angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy
Histologic Features
- An intact epidermis with a basket-weave horn
- A dense, diffuse and nodular infiltrate in the dermis consisting of large lymphoid cells with round to oval pale nuclei and prominent nucleoli (immunoblasts) in an admixture of small lymphocytes, many plasma cells and scattered eosinophils
- An increased number of blood vessels with hyperplastic endothelial cells
- Frequent mitoses with some atypical mitoses
- Extravasation of red blood cells
