Histologic Features
- A relatively small proliferation of cells adjacent to the hyperplastic epidermis characterized by
- Fibrohistiocytic areas alternating with myxoid areas in the upper dermis
- Short fascicles of plump spindle hyperchromatic cells with prominent nucleoli
- Striking atypia with occasional atypical multinucleated giant cells
- Neoplastic cells with xanthomatous changes
- Numerous mitotic figures
- Scattered inflammatory cells
- Prominent solar elastosis of the dermis
