- A small and symmetrical lesion with
- Epidermal proliferation and hyperpigmentation of the basal layer
- Disorderly arrangement of plump fibroblasts and histiocytes in a highly cellular stroma
- Many siderophages and hemosiderin
- Keloidal collagen bundles at the periphery
- Extravasation of red blood cells and scattered inflammatory cells
