leukocytoclastic vasculitis
Histologic Features
- A superficial perivascular infiltrate consisting of neutrophils, lymphocytes and a few eosinophils
- Abundant nuclear dust, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and a few eosinophils
- Extravasated red blood cells in the papillary dermis
- Fibrin depositions in the vessel walls
- Thrombi within the lumina
- Extension of the inflammatory process in the subcutaneous fat, focal necrosis around blood vessels, and prominent thrombi formation
