- A thick compact orthokeratosis on hair-bearing skin
- Confluent hypergranulosis
- Irregular marked psoriasiform hyperplasia
- A thickened papillary dermis with coarse collagen in vertical streaks
- Dilated papillary blood vessels
- Melanophages in numbers in the papillary dermis
- A sparse superficial perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltrate
